There are plenty of things that can feel like a barrier to exercise – age, fitness level, experience, coordination, flexibility… BUT none of them should hold you back! At the YMCA, we have all manner of group fitness classes to suit every ability. There’s no time like the present to work on your well-being and healthy active living is a big part of that.

From low impact Yoga & Pilates, to high-intensity Spin. You’ll find a group fitness class that will match both what your body can do and what you want to do.

Each class is led by an instructor who is well-versed in the activity they coach – but additionally, all YMCA instructors are passionate about helping you get the results you’re after, as well as making sure that everyone has a really good time in our group fitness classes.

Barre Pilates Pilates Spinning Spinlates
Get the best core workout and create a long, strong & lean body when you combine Pilates with Ballet! The class targets every muscle group is low impact and low injury risk. Additional cost applies. Highly focused, controlled body movements to strengthen your posture, improve your muscle imbalances and reactivate your small muscles to optimise overall musculoskeletal function and alignment. *Approved strength & balance programme This 45– 50 minute class is for everybody. It will develop your cardiovascular strength and endurance like no other workout. Your instructor will lead you through different styles of rides with motivational music and class instruction. Fused together is 40 minutes of Spin and Pilates! Improve fitness, core strength, flexibility and posture all in one class!
Tabata Spin Yoga Ys – Tone Y’s – Fit
Hit the saddle for a 30 minutes High Intensity Interval workout on the spin bike! A 75-minute class that increases joint mobility and spinal flexibility. Promoting strength and breathing techniques, enhancing body, mind and spirit. Get a great workout and tone up your whole body with only a stretch band or light weights! Find out how in our express Y’s-Tone class! A general low impact fitness class. Simple to follow and fun choreography. Suitable for all fitness levels. 15-20 minutes low impact cardio/simple choreography. Then grab your dumbbells and get an all-over toning for upper and lower body. Then hit the deck and focus on abs and butt. A great way to get fit and strong.
Salsa Muscle Max HIIT 10 Count Boxing
Embrace the most popular Latin dance with Mo! Get all the benefits of dancing, embrace a different culture and have fun together with Salsa. Class is suitable for all abilities. Additional cost applies. Build the body you want with a variety of weight bearing and body weight exercises designed to build muscle, tone the body and create definition. A great mix of exercises designed to get you up and moving. HIIT  (High-Intensity Interval Training) will work you from your head to your toes and every muscle in between! fa and Tui will teach you the skills and techniques of boxing along with strength and conditioning through their diverse and fun boxing circuit!
Thai Box Step Resistance Parkinsons Konga
This class incorporates basic punches and kicks that lead into a variety of combinations, lifting the heart rate and gaining coordination through Thai Box together Build up coordination and fitness with step for 20 minutes and then grab the dumbbells and tone your body all over! A class for those with Parkinson’s and their caregivers. The class is designed around functional exercises, ability, and coordination to aide in fundamental everyday movements. *Approved strength & balance programme. Konga is an easy-to-follow, high intensity fusion of boxing, cardio, dance and sculpting set to the hottest beats from all decades.
Pram Time
A pre and post partum exercises designed for mums and mums to be. Bring along your little ones along in their pram or capsule anytime between 1-3pm.

When school is out, the Y is in! The Y offers a range of recreational based kids programming available throughout the year. Our programmes create fun, safe, fun-filled environments for kids to grow in body mind and spirit.
