DONATE TO THE Y
Making a positive difference in the lives of kids, young people and families
At the Y we build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. As a not-for-profit we are here for our local communities and aim to empower youth, improve health, and strengthen community. Your support helps individuals and families access programmes that support their physical, social and mental well-being.
Every dollar you give to YMCA Central could change the life of a child, teen or family in need.
FEE ASSISTANCE
It is our aim that no person willing, but unable, to pay will be denied access to YMCA programs or services.
The Y is committed to ensuring opportunities for all. We believe that participation in any of our programs and services should not be restricted to the financially privileged. Through Fee Assistance, we will make healthy lifestyles accessible to all people.
Fee Assistance is available across most program areas, for individuals, families, or groups. It can be used to provide free access to programs or can provide partial subsidy dependent on the individual’s ability to pay. Your support will help provide access to someone in need.
FAMILY CAMP
Family Camp is about removing all the pressures of daily life for a weekend and enabling families to switch off and spend a few days actively reconnecting together in an outdoor environment with the support of caring YMCA staff. Family Camp is a fully funded programme supported and delivered by YMCA Central. Selected families from all walks of life and backgrounds are treated to a weekend of cabin based camping at our Y Camp.

BEQUESTS
No matter how big or small, a bequest is one of the most significant gifts you can make. It could change lives for better, making a big difference to New Zealand kids, young people or families who need it.
Your gift can be a specific sum, a percentage of your estate or even a specific property or asset. And how it’s used is up to you. You may be happy for us to use your bequest in the area of most need, or choose a specific programme, service or geographic area that is most special to you.
How to leave a bequest to the Y
If you don’t have a current will, it’s best to get in touch with your family solicitor or a trustee company, such as the Public Trust or NZ Guardian Trust. They’ll help you create a will that reflects your wishes, ensuring they’re clearly understood, and can include a bequest to the Y as part of this process. To do this, you’ll need the full name and address of the Y; YMCA Central Inc, 67 Pilmuir Street, Lower Hutt, Wellington 5010.
If you have an existing will, it can be updated to include a bequest to the Y by making a codicil (a codicil is an addition to your will). It’s important to do this process in consultation with your solicitor.
If you choose to include a bequest to the Y, we would like to know so we can personally thank and acknowledge you on behalf of those kids and families that will most benefit from your generosity.
