Whare Manaaki

We’re here to make a difference – one person, one family, one connection at a time.

Whare Manaaki is more than just a community centre – it’s a vibrant, welcoming space where people come together, learn, and support one another. Located at 26 North Street in Palmerston North, Whare Manaaki is part of a new neighbourhood development designed to bring families and individuals together. Serving 50 families at Te Raki Pae Ora (meaning the northern abode of activity and light), as well as the wider community of neighbours, businesses, and organisations, our centre is a safe and inclusive space for everyone.

Whare Manaaki means “a place of care, hospitality, and nurturing” – values that are at the heart of everything we do. Our centre is designed to provide a supportive environment where people feel valued, connected, and empowered.

At Whare Manaaki, we offer a variety of facilities designed to meet the needs of our community, all of which are available for hire. These include:

  • A kitchen
  • A private office space/counselling room
  • A comfortable lounge
  • An open recreational area
  • And a spacious outdoor area

Masterton

Masterton YMCA

Located at 371 Queen Street, Masterton

 

Conference and gymnasium hire available. The conference space has a fully functional commercial kitchen, tables, chairs, and heat pump with a Sound System and a projector available on request. We offer a full-size sports court hire with viewing platform and scoreboard. Sports available include Junior Multi-Sport, Badminton, Indoor Soccer, Futsal, Volleyball, Basketball, and Netball.

celebration, the YMCA Hall offers a spacious and affordable venue to suit your needs.

Our Venue offers:

  • Direct access to Ongley Park, providing additional outdoor space

YMCA Youth

Youth Hubs and Youth Education

At the Y, we believe every young person should have the opportunity to feel connected, supported and confident in who they are and where they are going. Y Central runs youth programmes and services across the lower North Island, responding to the needs of young people in our communities. Our youth programmes create safe, welcoming spaces where rangatahi can build relationships, develop new skills, explore pathways into education and employment, and have their voices heard.
