Join Our Board
YMCA (Y) Central, our mission is to empower young people and communities to build a just, sustainable, equitable, and inclusive Aotearoa where everyone can thrive in body, mind, and spirit. Guided by our four impact pillars — Sustainable Planet, Meaningful Work, Community Wellbeing, and A Just World — we deliver programmes that create lasting personal and social change.
Specifically we deliver early childhood education, before and after school care, youth development programmes, community hubs, outdoor camps, and sport and recreation programmes.
Our work spans from the Greater Wellington Region, to Whanganui, Palmerston North and Masterton. All across the lower North Island of Aotearoa, Y Central is strengthening communities and empowering people to make a positive difference in their lives and beyond.
As a team we’re committed to a strong and viable organisation that’s well positioned to strengthen our communities. This commitment needs strong leadership, and we now have vacancies for new members on our Board who can provide that leadership and support our vision and purpose.
Being a member of the Y Central Board means being part of an internationally recognised brand, contributing to a complex and diverse organisation, and ultimately, making a difference in your community.
